Don't Change Tactics, Change Tools
Let’s suppose that you just had a problem dropped on your desk.
Everyone else has tried to solve it and failed. So now it’s your turn to give it a shot. If everyone else has tried to solve the problem and failed, you are probably not going to do any better if you try to re-do what everyone else has already tried.
What you need to do is change the tools you are using.
Come up with a new tool; not a new tactic.
Look to manipulate something that no one else has tried.
Simplistically stated, if you have a hammer-and-nail problem and no one could solve it with different sizes of hammers and varying gauges of nails, having you try a new hammer is not going to do any good.
